-
Before booking an appointment, please ensure that any previous brow or lip tattoos are at least 80%-90% faded.
It is not recommended to have overlapping or crisscrossed work from multiple artists, so please consult with us first for approval.
We will be happy to advise you on the best course of action for your specific needs and concerns.
-
The results of your cosmetic tattoos can typically last up to 3 years after two sessions. The longevity of the pigment may be affected by factors such as your skin type, lifestyle, age, and the frequency of touch-ups.
Your skincare routine can also influence the duration of the results. For example, using products with AHA or Glycolic Acid, getting chemical peels, or tanning may cause the skin to regenerate more quickly and fade the pigment faster.
-
Depending on the service — It is recommended to schedule your second session 4-6 weeks after the initial appointment.
The natural tattooed skin healing process takes 7-28 days, and the skin's protective barrier recovery period continues for another three to four weeks.
If you wait longer than 10-12 weeks to have a second session, it may result in faded brows or lips and may require additional work, resulting in additional charges.
Please schedule your second session in a timely manner to ensure the best possible results.
-
After your second session, results can last 1-3 years based on your skin and lifestyle. It's recommended to schedule a yearly annual refresher to maintain the results.
If you are unsure when to schedule a touch-up, you can send in a photo of your bare brows or lips around the 9-month mark and we can advise you on whether or not you need to come in for an appointment.
If your brows or lips have lost their shape, it will count as a full first session price, not a touch-up.
If you don’t return for a touch-up, the color will slowly fade, but not completely.
-
The following is a general estimate of the time required for each permanent makeup service:
Machine Nano Brows: 4-5 hours
Machine Combo Brows: 4-5 hours
Ombre Brows: 3-4 hours
Soft 3D Ombre Brows: 3-4 hours
Lip Blush: 3-4 hours
Lollipop Lip Blush: 4-5 hours
Faux Freckles: 1 hour
Second Sessions: 2-3 hours
Annual Refreshers: 2-4 hours
Please note that the actual time required may vary depending on the individual's skin and how well it takes in pigment.
Permanent makeup is an art that requires time. Please follow pre-care instructions, eat before your appointment, and avoid strenuous plans afterward.
You are welcome to bring AirPods to listen to podcasts or music during the session.
We will provide you with a copy of the post-care instructions and review them with you after the appointment.
-
It is advised that clients contact their physician for a prescription for ZOVIRAX capsules or an antiviral medication that can prevent cold sores.
Start taking the medication as instructed by the physician, ideally 3 days prior to the treatment, and continue taking it until the recommended course of treatment is finished. This will help to reduce the likelihood of cold sore outbreaks and ensure the best possible healed results.
-
A second session is essential for optimal, long-lasting results.
Just like nail polish needs two coats for full coverage, your cosmetic tattoos require a second session to ensure even pigment saturation and longevity.
At this appointment, we’ll perfect any areas that need extra attention. After that, no additional touch-ups are needed for 12–15 months.
-
Yes, whether saline removal will work depends on your specific case. I recommend booking a free consultation so I can evaluate your brows and determine if saline removal is the right option for you.

Jenny Inks personally don't use pre-numb for brows. It hardens the skin and blocks proper depth during tattooing. Don't worry though, we have secondary numbing on the second pass and it works great!
-
Yes, getting a tattoo, including cosmetic tattoo services, can cause some level of discomfort or pain. However, the use of secondary numbing agents can help reduce the discomfort. The pain tolerance of individuals also varies, so the experience can be different for each person.
-
Yes! the pigments used are vegan-friendly and cruelty-free.
-
Scars must be healed and at least one year old.
Working over scars on the skin can result in unpredictable results and may require multiple sessions.
Scar tissue can absorb ink differently than healthy skin and may not hold pigments as well. In some cases, multiple sessions may be needed to achieve the desired results.
-
NO botox around the brow region for 4 weeks.
NO botox or lip fillers in or around the lip region for 4 weeks.
-
Scabbing and peeling of the treated area is a normal part of the healing process. It takes about 2 weeks for the brow area to finish scabbing while 4 weeks to completely heal. During this time, sun exposure, excessive sweating, heat, and swimming must be AVOIDED.
Please make sure to schedule your procedure around social events such as weddings and vacations so as to not compromise your healing process.
Brow Tattoo Pre-care
-
Your healed results depend on more than just the artist's skill—your skin type, pre-care, and aftercare all play a huge role in how well your tattoo heals. Retention is made up of:
25% Your Skin – Everyone’s skin heals differently, affecting how the pigment holds.
25% Pre-Care – Preparing your skin before the appointment is key to good retention.
25% Aftercare – Following post-care instructions ensures proper healing and color retention.
25% Artistry – Technique, pigment choice, and application all contribute to the final result.
Skipping pre-care can affect your healed results by up to 80%! Things like caffeine, blood thinners, or dry skin can lead to poor retention and uneven healing. Aftercare is just as important—neglecting it can cause premature fading or patchy brows.

Do not use oral steroids or brow growth serums.
-
Avoid laser facials/peels, chemical peels, and exfoliants around the brow area.

Consult your doctor if you’re on prescribed blood thinners about pausing them before the procedure.
Avoid over-the-counter blood thinners like aspirin.
-
Avoid cannabis, as it can significantly increase pain sensitivity.
Begin reducing blood thinners, including aspirin, turmeric, ginger, garlic, cinnamon, grapeseed extract, and tea.
Drink plenty of water to help flush blood thinners from your system.
-
Stop taking vitamins until after the procedure.
Drink plenty of water with electrolytes.
-

-
First 48 Hours
Leave your brows alone. Do not wet, apply moisturizer, or touch your brows.
You may blot excess fluids with a sterile cotton pad up to three times a day within the 48 hours.
Use a washcloth to clean around your brows while washing your face.
Days 2-7
Gently wash brows twice daily, morning and night, with water and an antibacterial gentle cleanser (Cetaphil or CeraVe recommended).
Gently clean the treated area with your fingertips in small circles, following the direction of hair growth. Avoid rubbing or scrubbing the brows.
After washing, apply a thin layer of aftercare ointment to the treated areas using a clean finger.
You can apply the ointment up to 3-6 times a day, or as needed. Clean off any old ointment before each application. This helps keep the area clean, moisturized and reduces dryness. Don’t scratch!
Do not apply skincare directly to the treated area.
Discontinue cleansing the brows and ointment around day 7-10.
-
No makeup on your brows.
Don’t scratch, pick, or rub the scabs; let them fall off naturally.
Avoid any type of chemical or manual exfoliants on your brows.
Avoid submerging brows in water, including pools, saunas, hot yoga, steam showers, and saltwater.
Avoid sweating in the brow area for 10 days.

Stay out of direct sunlight and tanning beds; wear a hat outside.
Keep away from pets to avoid irritation from fur and dander.
-
Avoid soaking the treated area in water for long. Stay away from saltwater or chlorinated pools, saunas, hot yoga, steam rooms/showers, facials, or tanning beds.

Avoid chemical peels, exfoliants, and products with retinol, alpha-hydroxy, and glycolic acids on the treated area until your second session is finished.
-
The true color and shape will continue to blossom and fully settle within 4-6 weeks.
Your brow color will appear 30% - 40% lighter and softer once healed.
After the first hour, the treated area can look 40% darker than the initial color, which is normal and will fade with healing.
You may experience 'brow shock' as your brows go through color phases—starting dark, lightening, then settling into a softer shade.
Skin Type Impact: Different skin types (dry, oily, or normal) can yield different results, influencing how the pigment heals and how it fades over time. Oily skin may cause pigments to fade faster, while dry skin may retain pigment longer.
-
Temporary side effects include redness, swelling, puffiness, tenderness, bruising, and dry patches. These usually subside within a few days.
If you experience increased redness, swelling, fever, drainage, or oozing, seek medical attention immediately.
Final results vary due to skin type, lifestyle, medications, and individual healing processes.
-
Long-Term Care & Maintenance
After two sessions, your brow tattoos typically last up to 1-3 years, depending on lifestyle, skin type, and aftercare.
It's recommended that after completing two sessions, to schedule a yearly annual refresher to maintain the results.
Apply SPF 50+ sunscreen to the brow area once fully healed to slow fading.
Avoid Retin-A, moisturizers, acne medications, glycolic acid, exfoliants, and anti-aging products on the treated area, as they can cause premature fading.
Treatments to Avoid:
Laser treatments near the brows, as some lasers may alter pigment color.
Tanning beds, which accelerate fading.
Natural Fading Process:
Pigments will fade over time due to factors like metabolism, skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure, medication, and facial surgery. However, as a form of permanent cosmetic tattoo, in some cases, they will not fade completely.

If you have a history of cold sores, we recommend consulting your doctor for a prescription of antivirals like Acyclovir. Start taking it 3 days before your appointment, continue on the day of, and finish the prescribed course to help prevent an outbreak.
Cold sores can cause scarring and result in pigment loss in the tattooed area.
If you arrive with an active pimple or cold sore, your appointment may be canceled, and your deposit will be forfeited.
-
Not everyone may be suitable for dark lip neutralization treatment for lip blushing.
If you're prone to hyperpigmentation, you may have a higher risk of developing Post-Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation (PIH), especially if you have excessive lip pigmentation.
PIH can cause the lips to heal darker than before the treatment.
The occurrence of PIH depends on the individual's body’s reaction to the lip blush treatment.
In cases where PIH occurs during the healing process, the true color may resurface within 6 weeks to 6 months, but this outcome is not guaranteed.
PIH is unpredictable and depends on the individual’s healing process and their body's response to the treatment.
